Ollie May Hudgings, 91, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away at Aberdeen Village, on March 5, 2017. She was born in Marianna, Arkansas, and was preceded in death by parents Earl and Ruth Kilpatrick, two brothers, William Earl, and Bud, and her beloved husband, Bill.
Ollie graduated from the University of Oklahoma where she was president of her sorority and on the Dean's List. It was at O.U. where she met Bill, who was completing his degree under the GI bill. Her degree was in speech and journalism. However, when Bill came into her life, they soon married and had a daughter, Linda. Then her focus and time changed to that of mother and wife.
Ollie and Bill lived most of their life in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was PTA president, Sunday school teacher, a leader in the First Methodist Church, girl scout leader, and a beloved member of the community.
Their later lives were spent in Rogers, Arkansas before moving to Kansas City to be with Linda and her family. It was there that their lives turned a different direction, and they became grandparents extraordinaire to Kate and Nathaniel, their two grandchildren. Ollie and Bill attended all of their events and were actively involved in the junior golf and tennis programs for both grandchildren.
Ollie was a huge sports enthusiast, watching KU basketball, and, also, rooting for her Oklahoma Sooners and Arkansas Razorback teams. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Ollie is survived by her brothers, Bob and Mac Kilpatrick, her daughter, Linda Sirridge, and son-in-law, Dr. Stephen Sirridge, and her two grandchildren, Dr. Kate Sirridge, and Nathaniel Sirridge.
The family thanks the staff of the Aberdeen facility, the Skilled Nursing staff and Kindred at Home, Gentiva Hospice for their care and compassion.
A brief memorial service will take place at Aberdeen Village Chapel, 17500 West 119th Street, Olathe, Kansas, on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00.
