Joyce was born September 8, 1940 in Bloomington, IL, the daughter of Gerald and Jeanette (Hirst) Tyler. They preceded her in death. Joyce died on Monday, July 3, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri.

Joyce worked as a Secretary for many years in the Lawrence real estate community, primarily with the Mitchell-Stephens, Mitchell, and Gill real estate agencies. She especially enjoyed greeting and being with people, and was always willing to warmly help her co-workers and customers achieve their work together.

Joyce accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior when a very young girl, and joyfully served Him and people all through her life. She was a member of the Lawrence Free Methodist Church, the TLC Group at the church, and was a long-time choir member adding her beautiful soprano voice to the church music ministry as they lifted voices in praise to Christ.

Joyce was especially proud of, and deeply loved, each member of her family. She unconditionally lived her commitment to them as highlighted in God’s Word, Proverbs 31. Family members include her husband Bob at their Kansas City home. Four daughters, Kelli Koelling (Vic) of Hamilton, MO; Laura Ross (Scott) of Bolingbrook, IL; Andrea Bosanac of Lawrence, KS; and Chanda Koesel (Todd) of McMinnville, OR.
