Lester Paul Raymo

Lester Paul Raymo, 67, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 2, 2018 surrounded by his family, just the way he wanted.

 

Lester was born September 12, 1949 in Trenton, Mo to Goldie and Leonard Raymo and he lived in the area most of his life until he was 16. He and his family then moved to Arkansas. Lester served in the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1970.

 

He is survived by his children, James Clark and Sharon of White House Tenn. Patrick Kreutzer of Lisbon, Oh., Melissa Zefferi and David Looney of Higginsville Mo., Charla and Danny McAnelly of Fayetteville Ark., Steven Raymo of Fayetteville Ark., and Jeanie Raymo and Kentucky Jeffries of Jay, Ok. and several grandchildren. He is survived by sisters Marion Flinn of St. Charles, Mo., Janice Rogers of Brandon Fl., Freida Raymo of Hudson Fl. Brothers include Leonard Raymo of Potomac MD., Marvin Raymo with Bonnie of West Fork Ar. Rex Raymo of West Fork Ar., Larry Raymo of Jamesport, Mo., Billy Raymo of Chillicothe, Mo.

 

He is predeceased by one son Paul Kreutzer, two brothers Dale Raymo and Bruce Raymo, one sister Joan Boyd, and his parents. He also had one brother die at birth named Ronald Allen Raymo.

 

He will be remembered for his horsemanship, work ethic, the ability to create something from nothing and the iconic black western hat. Lester loved camping, fishing and hunting Morel mushrooms.

 

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on June 9th at the Higginsville Mo park in the Gazebo Pavilion to remember and celebrate his life with family and friends. Interment will be at a later date in the Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo.

 

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Camp Valor Outdoors to help other disabled veterans enjoy camping, hunting and other fun activities. Advice for growing up; "You're not a man until you wear a size 16 shirt."
