Kitty Davis Kriegshauser, 86, passed away August 7, 2018 peacefully and comfortably at the Kansas City Hospice House.  She died from lung failure secondary to several other conditions.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Marjorie Powell Allen Chapel at Powell Gardens on Monday September 3 at 1 pm, with scattering of her ashes in the memorial garden and a reception to follow in the Community Room.  There will be no charge to enter the garden.  Powell Gardens address: 1609 N.W. Kitty was born to Walter Ernest Davis and Irene Harris Davis on June 5, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  She attended school there with her life-long friend Margaret Webb McAllister, graduating from Will Rogers High School. 

While attending William Woods College in Fulton, Mo she met her husband, Walter George Kriegshauser, Jr., of St. Louis, MO, who attended the companion men’s college, Westminster.  After their marriage on April 26, 1952, and after completing Walt’s time in the Army in Augusta, Georgia, they moved to St. Louis where their 3 children were born, Kerry Kriegshauser Campbell (ex-Mark), Jeffry Scott Kriegshauser (Sherry Neese) and Lee Ann Kriegshauser, Kitty’s main caregiver for the last years of her life. Her 7 grandchildren, Amy, Carolyn, Keli, Matthew, Emily, Michael and Zach and her 11 great grandchildren, Nathan, Riley, Walter and Henry (twins), Campbell, Cade, Oliver, William, June, Mason and Ansel (with one more on the way) were her pride and joy.

Kitty and Walt moved to the Kansas City area in 1962.  When their kids were well into school, Kitty began working as an accountant, learning the trade quickly.  This became her life-long career, giving up her last few clients only a few months before her death.

While she and Walt divorced in 1974, they remained friends, supporting each other through hard times.  She said she always loved him and was thankful for him.
