Jeanne Marie (Kolbusz) Zawisza

Jeanne Marie Zawisza, 83, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 15, 2018, with her family at her side, at Aberdeen Village, Olathe, KS.

 

Jeanne was born on November 8, 1935 in Denain, France to Ignacy Kolbusz and Angeline Baran. Her parents were both born in Poland, moving to France prior to 1930. Jeanne became a Naturalized American Citizen in 1983.

 

Jeanne grew up during the German occupation of France in WWII. After the war, her family immigrated to the United States in the early 1950's and lived in Chicago, IL. Jeanne worked for over 30 years at Wells-Gardner Electronic Corporation, 

 

On July 11, 1997, Jeanne married Wally Zawisza and they were happily married for 19-years until Wally's death in 2016. They loved traveling together and helping out at the American Legion in Skokie, IL.  Her interests included extended family, Polish food, traveling and listening to French & Italian music. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members and neighbors as needed.

 

Jeanne is survived by her daughter Susan Angeline LaMantia; daughter Donna Jeanne & Timothy Winslow Cadden; grandchildren, Karen Lazar of Chicago, Krystle & Craig McMaster of Seattle, Thomas Scott Cadden of Kansas City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Irene Kolsbusz Zawisza and brother John Kolbusz.


The family would like to thank the good people at Aberdeen Village and Hospice.



In lieu of donations, Jeanne would have wanted everyone to take a loved one out for a memorable lunch or dinner.
