Ingeborg (Inge) Coad, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 7^th, 2024, in Olathe, KS.

She was born in Berlin, Germany to Harald and Gitta Michelsen on March 18, 1940.  As her father was in the diplomatic service, she travelled around and lived in different places including Germany, Thailand, and the US.  She came to the US in 1961 and decided to stay in San Francisco where she met Carl Coad.  They were married on April 23, 1966, and enjoyed nearly 58 years together. 

She was a wonderful mother who was always there when needed.  She took care of those around her and was ready for long talks whenever and wherever.  She always wanted to be part of the fun and loved to laugh and dance.  She enjoyed gardening, cross-stitching, making Christmas ornaments and various other crafts.  She was very active in Alanon and ACA for many years and made lifelong friends through those organizations.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers.  Inge is survived by Carl, daughters Kirsten (married to Lloyd McWhirt) of Omaha, Nebraska, and Tracey (married to Scott Howes) of Overland Park, Kansas, sister Rika Michelsen and four grandchildren Kaley Howes, Sydney Howes, Brandon McWhirt, and Alexander McWhirt.

A Memorial service / Celebration of Life will be held at a later day.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens - City of Overland Park, Kansas (opkansas.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association  Alzheimer's Association | Donate to Fight Alzheimer's Disease.
