ROBERT MONROE MOYER, SR

Robert M. Moyer, 94, of Lansing, KS passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024. He was born September 28, 1929 in Pittsburg, KS to Charles and Catherine Moyer. Bob graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1948. Following graduation, he served in the US Navy from 1948-1952. While on shore leave in Providence, RI, he met and fell in love with Virginia H. May, they were married on June 21, 1952. They then moved back to Pittsburg where Bob attended the Kansas State Teacher’s College of Pittsburg (now known as Pittsburg State University). Bob’s career was in printing, he retired from civil service at Fort Leavenworth in 1989.

Bob is survived by his children Tom (Cindy) Moyer of Topeka, Kelly (Warren) Abernathy of Leavenworth, Amy (Cecil) Moore of Lenexa, grandchildren Julie (Joey) Simonis, Dennis (Jessica) Abernathy, and Walker Moore, great-grandson Elam Abernathy, and another on the way. He is also survived by step-grandchildren, Melissa Lattimore & family, and Stephen Hernandez & family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ginna, and his son Robert Moyer, Jr.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 19 from 10am-11am at St Francis de Sales church, Lansing, KS, followed by Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11am. He will be interred at the Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Deeper Window Association, Leavenworth, KS.
