In 1955 Don married Betty Jo Michael . They have been together 68 years. To this union they brought four beautiful daughters. Don was a former Nebraska farmer who always dreamed of a future ranch that he would create called the Rolling-R-Ranch. He left the farm in 1962 and became a Literature Evangelist. In 1966 he moved his family to Overland Park, Kansas to begin his work as a Collections Manager for Shawnee Mission Medical Center, where he worked for the next 42 years.

Don is survived by his wife, Betty Jo (Michael) Reynolds. Four children, Vickie Becan, Deanna Wiles, Patricia Wilson, and LaDonna Cooper and their spouses. Don was predeceased by his adopted daughter, Danielle Alexander; nephew, Caleb Alexander; His parents, Lloyd and Dorothy Reynolds; and sisters, Eloise Green and Carol Milham.

Don’s first love has always been for the Lord Jesus Christ and his greatest desire is to have his whole family in the kingdom of heaven. His faithfulness to his God was breathtaking. He was a terrific witness for God not in words only but more in actions. Never took life for granted but lived one day at a time. Don fully embraced the promise of salvation by grace through faith and depended fervently on Christ’s righteousness for his eternal life. He was quick to thank people for any help given and appreciated many that crossed his path.

He would look for opportunities to share God with people. He gave of his time helping others. For many years he worked weekly at a local Food Pantry serving dozens of families. Church was a big part of Don’s life and through the years he served as an elder, song leader, and Sabbath School teacher at the West Lenexa Seventh-day Adventist Church. Don and Betty Jo were very proactive in making sure the needs of the older members of their church family were met.

In his free time Don enjoyed watching the Kansas City Royals baseball team and Kansas City Chiefs football team play ball. He also enjoyed gardening and tending to his well-manicured yard. Don was truly a farmer at heart and with his wife, Betty Jo, maintained their half acre of land beautifully.

Throughout his entire journey, he cracked jokes with his grown children, and even pulled some light-hearted pranks. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed.

Granddaughter ,Salina ,Kansas

I will always remember the Biblical stories he shared with us on Friday and Saturday evenings when we stayed over on a weekend. Those stories were just kid stories at first, but as I grew to understand their meaning, they became examples of how he showed us God's love. Grandpa was always light-hearted and smiling, always giving a strong hug to show his love. We always gathered in a circle to pray before leaving, I look forward to gathering together again soon. Praying for our family as we process this loss together.
