Ruth May Parsons Stilley

Ruth May Parsons Stilley, 87, passed away on Thursday, January 8 at her home at Brighton Gardens . She was born in Oklahoma City to Mabel Ellen and William Paul Parsons on February 20, 1922. After graduating from Classen High School, she attended Oklahoma A&M. While working for Western Union Telegraph Company, she met her husband, Curtis B. Stilley. They were married 45 years. They moved to Prairie Village in 1952 where they raised their children. Upon retirement, they moved to Timpson, Texas. Ruth returned to the Kansas City area after CurtisÕ death.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother William Paul Parsons, Jr. and son-in-law Harlan Eakin. She leaves behind her children Charlotte Davison (Bruce), Curtis Stilley (Babs), Charles Stilley (DyAnn) and Gloria Eakin. She also leaves 12 grandchildren: Jennifer, Meghan and Molly Davison; Kate, Betsy and Joe Stilley; Lauren, Sam and LeAnn Stilley; Willie, Mark and Stacie Eakin; and three great grandchildren, Trey, Tyler and Jennifer Eakin.

Ruth will be remembered for her dedication to her family, affection for her friends and kindness of spirit to everyone.

A memorial service will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Church.

Many thanks to the caregivers and staff at Brighton Gardens for the kindness and compassion shown to Ruth.
