Lee E. Scheidenhelm, 63, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away February 9, 2010. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Mendota, IL. Lee was born December 15, 1946 in Mendota, IL. He was a farmer, taught school in Amboy, IL and Waubonsee Community College. He sold real estate for many years in the Fox Valley area. Lee relocated to the Kansas City area, retired and kept busy with handyman jobs. Lee loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing and hiking. Lee was known to his family as a creative, artistic and loving man. He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Bernice Dulen Scheidenhelm of Mendota, IL., as well as his brother Lyne Scheidenhelm of Mendota. Survivors include his daughter Kristen (Ted) Jeffries of Columbia, MO and son Matthew (Heather) Scheidenhelm of Olathe, Ks. Also to mourn his passing are his grandchildren Adah and Braeden Scheidenhelm, sisters; Janine (Duane) Black of Mendota and Julee Scheidenhelm of Apache Junction, Az. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The City Union Mission, 1100 E. 11th St., KCMo 64106.
