Lewis E. Berg, 92, of Parkville, MO, passed away peacefully Monday, March 1, 2010, in the presence of his family. A memorial service celebrating his life and commitment to God, his family and church will take place at Parkville Presbyterian Church, 819 Main, on Saturday, March 6 at 3:00. Visitation for family and friends begins at 2:00.

Lew was born May 23, 1917, in Bremen, IN. He married his wife of 62 years, Ruby Elsey, in 1948, and together they lived a life dedicated to peace and justice in the world. Upon moving to Parkville in 1955, Lew and Ruby joined Parkville Presbyterian and continued to devote their lives to God and church service, even as they raised four children. Lew was a dedicated college professor of mathematics and taught for more than 30 years at Park University and Maple Woods Community College. Lew is survived by his wife Ruby, his children Stephen Berg and wife Joyce, Karen Kosman and husband Walt, Janet Walker and husband Steve, and Phil Berg, along with eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program, payable to Parkville Presbyterian Church.
