Charles E. Fiehler

Feb 06, 1943 - Nov 02, 2026

Charles “Chuck” E. Fiehler, 83, died November 2, 2026 at his home in Overland Park, KS, surrounded by family.

Chuck was born February 6, 1943 in Baldwin City, KS, the son of Lindell and Pauline Fiehler. He grew up in the Wellsville area and attended high school there. As a young man he had many jobs, working with his dad to maintain oil pumps, for United Telephone Company wiring homes in the Gardner area, and in Desoto at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant, before going to work for Continental Can in Lenexa, where he retired in 2008.  Chuck could fix or build anything; he was a skilled carpenter, with the delicate touch that crafted a beautiful china cabinet and he worked on all kinds of machinery, including building his own motorcycle for fun. He was a very hard working man but balanced life with playfulness and a great sense of humor.

On April 10, 1970, he married the love of his life, Norma. She survives him.

Other survivors include his sister, Sandra Jones of Wellsville, KS, his children, Linda Warner (Doug) of Kansas City, KS, Karen Kessell (Greg) of Olathe, KS, Scott Fiehler (Jenny) of North Kansas City, MO, John Fish (Erin) of North Port, FL, Bill Fish (Tonya) of Indianapolis, IN, Sandra Hall (Russ) of Evansville, IN and Melissa Fehd (Jeff) of Shawnee, KS, thirteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his three brothers, Bill Pogue, Jerry Fiehler, Robert Fiehler, and a daughter, Glennis Fiehler.

Chuck attended the Shawnee United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, 11-6 at 1 pm at Wellsville Cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Overland Park Fire Department, Station 41 personnel for their quick responses and kind support and to the Kansas City Chiefs for the Superbowl victories that brought Chuck so much happiness.
