Patricia Eppinger Burns, 89, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2018 after having suffered the cruel indignities of Alzheimer’s Disease.
She grew up in Kansas City MO, where her family owned Eppinger Printing Co. She graduated from Center High School, and attended CMSU in Warrensburg MO. Pat went to work at Cricket West on the Plaza, where she met and married Foster Burns and, together with him and his sister Virginia, operated Cricket West for over 30 years.
Pat is survived by her children Melisa Burns and Scott Burns, and step-daughter Mary Miller as well as her grandchildren Laura Burns (John Cmar); Jennifer Sklar-Vorkauf (Sven Vorkauf) & great-granddaughter Eden; Megan Faircloth; Nathan Burns-Sprung (Molly Wetta); Sean Burns-Sprung; and Erik Burns-Sprung. She was predeceased by her husbands Foster Burns and George Aylward; and stepson Foster Burns Jr.
Pat’s greatest love was for her grandchildren, and she likely saw every Disney movie made during the 80s and 90s.
Services will be held on Saturday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, 13th and Broadway in Kansas City, MO, with reception to follow.
