Obituaries detail

Jennifer Park

Jennifer Park was born in Lawrence, KS on June 30, 1960 to William O. Park and Laura Douglas Park.  She died August 18, 2020 in Advent Hospital in the emergency room. Jennifer grew up San Diego, CA.

At San Diegito High School she was an honor student. She was especially interested in the Drama Department where she had leading roles, but just as often did stage-hand work. At UCLA she majored in Poetry and English. She was talented at writing and editing. Many of her dorm-mates were helped by her notes on their papers and essays.  In her work life, she was an executive assistant at ABC television in series development. Later, working in private companies, she then changed course and became employed at Captions, Inc. doing closed captioning of movies and televisions shows for the hearing-impaired.

Jen was a serious cook who loved to feed friends and family.  Her interest was multinational, leaving a kitchen supply of exotic condiments and seasonings. Her humor and sense of fun is a joy to remember.  Jen was a kind and loving friend to all who knew her.  She is survived by her mother Laura Douglas Jones, her sister Martha Park (Rick Alles), her step-sisters Laura Jones (Dan Cady), Ferrell Hansen (Greg), and step-brother Edward Jones.

To honor Jennifer, her favorite charities were Amnesty International and Planned Parenthood.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of Jennifer. Though we shared mutual friends, I knew her primarily through Faebook, where her humor and approach to life made her one of my favorite corespondents. I know these last few years were harder than she liked to let on, and I hope her memory is a blessing to those who knew her best. She will be much missed.

I’m so shocked and saddened to learn of Jennifer’s passing. I worked with her at Captions Inc. and was friends with her on a Facebook. She always struck me as being so intelligent, witty, talented and especially kind. I will forever remember her for the way she supported my kids. My sympathy to all her family and friends.

Oh Jen, I just heard and my heart weeps. We became facebook friends some years back when we would exchange recipes and I would "Bless your Heart" and pray for you although you did not believe. I always said, that is okay, he believe in you and now I choose to think you are in that Big Kitchen serving up your delicious concoctions. I will miss you my friend. Love, Jan Scott

Jenny was a smart, funny and unique individual who I immediately liked when I met her virtually over 10 years ago. We spoke on the phone several times and always planned on meeting in person some day. I’m sorry we won’t have that opportunity. I will be thinking of her and keeping her family in my prayers. Rest In Peace ❤️

Known to me only as Jai Bo, we had intersecting circles of online friends who were bloggers, and Facebookers. She was a nice person and well regarded. I am sorry for her friends and family.
