Emil Albert “Duke” Ducoulombier, Sr., 84, of Kansas City, passed away peacefully May 24, 2021 with family at his side. Visitation will be at 9:30am, followed by mass at 10:30am on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, 4737 N. Cleveland Ave, KCMO, 64117. After mass there will be a gathering at the church.
Duke was born May 5, 1937, in Kansas City, Missouri, attended De La Salle High School. He then enlisted in the Army, where he served three years in Germany. Upon returning, he joined and became an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 124 for 65 years. Duke served as the President, Business manager, instructor and business representative. Duke equally dedicated his life to his family as well as his IBEW family. Duke and Patty were married on April 4, 1959 and were married for 62 years. Duke loved watching sports and coaching his children and grandchildren as well as golfing, hunting and fishing. The stories that Duke told, along with the smell of Captain Black Tobacco, will instill memories that will last a lifetime in our hearts.
Duke is survived by his wife, Patty (Chambers) Ducoulombier, their children Roger (Mary) Ducoulombier, Jeanne (Chris) Whitaker and daughter-in-law Nancy Ducoulombier; grandchildren, Whitney, Madison, Amber Ducoulombier, Nicholas and Allison Crenshaw, Payton and Ava Whitaker, Katie (John) Rich, and Sophia Miller; great-grandchildren, Zaida, Shiloh and Harper. He was preceded in death by his Son, Skip Ducoulombier; Mother and Father, Mabel and Emil Ducoulombier; Brothers, Jim and Gus Ducoulombier.
Duke was a loving husband, dad, brother, grandfather, and will be greatly missed by all his family, extended IBEW family, friends and neighbors. Many thanks from Duke’s family for your kindness, visits, and prayers at this time.
