Joyce passed away on April 5th, 2023. She was born in KCMO on August 28, 1927. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry Grant and Frances Knowles, her husband William Gnefkow Sr. sons, William Gnefkow Jr., Michael Gnefkow and Robert Gnefkow. Brothers Jerry and Bobbie and  sisters Wanda and Shirley. She is survived by her son, Jim, and his wife Vicki, Raymore, Mo. and daughter Susan Sexton and her husband Tom, Lee’s Summit, MO. Daughters in law Caroline Carnes Gnefkow and Susie Gnefkow. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She lived a full and happy life. Prior to her husband’s death, they enjoyed many trips not only in the USA, but abroad. Joyce retired from the IRS.

Her family would like to thank the staff at both the John Knox Village Care Center and Village Hospice for the care and compassion they showed to our mom and our family. Donations in Joyce’s name can be made to a charity of your choice or the John Knox Village Foundation at 400 NW Murray Road Lee’s Summit, Mo. 64081-1498. 

Private graveside services were held at  Mt. Olivet Cemetery Raytown, Mo.
