I’m saddened with the passing of Tom. I was so fortunate to have met and develop a relationship with him. He was so entertaining and insightful. I so enjoyed my conversations with him. What a full life he enjoyed. Even though he didn’t go to KU I could tell he was a real fan of the Crimson & Blue. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the Gelvin family. He will truly be missed.

Great friend. I will miss spending hours watching sports and his and my favorites…the Jayhawks and the chiefs and eating our favorite meal—MacDonalds quarter pounder meal. Carpe diem

Loved your Dad so much, and your Mom too. They were like second parents to me. ,San Pedro ,California

I’m so glad he moved to be with all of you and enjoyed the rest of his life after Donna’s passing. He was a great man and a generous and loving person with a wicked sense of humor. I treasure the times I spent with him and Donna. I’m happy he was happy, though , and now he’s with Donna and they’re laughing and frolicking! 🩷🩷🩷🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌

I had such a great relationship with Uncle Tom and he always made me feel proud of being a Gelvin. I loved that I got to visit him in 2017 with my then partner and husband Leon. Just wish we could have shared one more visit together in person but so glad to speak on facetime and share emails over the years. I will really miss him but I keep his happy Christmas postcard on my frig because he, like my Dad , had a beautiful smile and a warm heart which is a reminder to feel peace and love each day. Much love to all the family and friends who share in my compassion for such a great man. God rest his soul. All my love,Kim Gelvin-Wilks
