James "Jim" Rosher, Age: 58
Nov 30, 1964 - Jun 04, 2023
James “Jim” Rosher passed away on June 4, 2023 at the age of 58. He is survived by his wife Noella, and children Julia and John. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Helen.

Jim was born in St. Joe, MO on November 30, 1964 and grew up on Lake Lotawana. He attended Lee's Summit High School, graduating in 1983. Jim pursued his undergraduate degree at TCU, graduating in 1987, before going on to study medicine at UT Southwestern and anesthesia residency at University of Colorado, to fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a doctor.

Jim spent most of his career practicing anesthesia in Kansas City, with the last 22 years spent with his own practice The Surgery Center of Kansas City, ultimately serving as the Medical Director. Jim loved working at SCKC, and adopted the unofficial role of in-house comedian, always bringing a smile and unique dad joke to all his patients and coworkers alike. In his 22 years he never took a single sick day.

Jim’s one true love in life was his family, who enjoyed life together by hiking, camping, and traveling the world. Jim was an avid cycler, swimmer, and outdoorsman all around. Over his lifetime, Jim explored Peru, to Patagonia, to New Zealand, to Iceland, and beyond, all with his wife and children by his side. The ALS did anything but stop Jim’s adventures. After his diagnosis with ALS a year ago, Jim went on to complete the Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal with his kids, the Coast to Coast trek in the UK with his wife and daughter, and a cross-country road trip with his son.

Jim will be remembered for his generosity, adventurous spirit, and laughter shared with others.

James and the Rosher family have requested instead of flowers or gifts to please commemorate his legacy and memory through donations to the local ALS Mid-America Chapter. (https://donate.als.org/give/287064/#!/donation/checkout?c_src=jumppage)

Jim and I became friends when I moved to Lee's Summit my junior year of high school. I have so many fond memories of our high school days. Jim was also my anesthesiologist the only surgery I have ever had. I didn't even know it would be him. Imagine the comfort of that. My deepest condolences to Noella, John and Julia. James will be missed by many and forgotten by none.

Jim was a great supporter of Scouting. As a physician I enjoyed working through the medical issues of camp, before campers arrive, and after they arrived. Rounding up everyone for physicals was fun and Jim was always available to help get the kids to camp. He was always a kind spirit and a good influence on the kids. I wish I had his energy!! Prayers go out to the family, immediate and otherwise during this tough time. Greg

Neighbors at Lake Lotawana ,Lake Lotawana ,Missouri

Rosher Family, We are so saddened to hear the passing of Jim. Growing up neighbors at Lake Lotawana, Jim would always take John, Julia, my siblings, and I fishing and boating. I spent pretty much my whole childhood growing up with this incredible family. His smile was so contagious and I always remember me screaming “Jim!!!!” from my house and he would always wave at me with the biggest smile on his face. We are sending all of our thoughts and prayers to your family during this difficult time, but goodness, how lucky are you to have Jim as your guardian Angel! Love, Jorden Binkley
