Larry Dale Borgstadt, Age: 83

Larry Dale Borgstadt, 83, passed away August 24 at St. Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit.  He was born February 22, 1940, in Kansas City and lived most of his life on the family farm at Concordia MO.  He was a Vietnam Vet having attended Naval Officers training in Pensacola FL (1962), and serving most of his time stationed at Atsugi Naval Air Station, Japan (1963-1966).

He married Carol Ann Hayden on August 22, 1964, and had two sons.  He farmed the family farms 1966-2012 and also worked as a computer programmer for DST Systems and UMB Bank 1985-2007.  He was a member/president of Concordia R-II school board 1981-1990.

His greatest joy in retirement was traveling with his wife in their 5th wheel including 3 trips to AK, trips to both coasts and  8 Canadian provinces and 8 winters spent in AZ.

  He is survived by his wife Carol of the home now in John Knox Village, Lees Summit, two sons, Thomas (Tricia) of Kansas City, Justin (Mindy) of W Des Moines IA, two grandsons, the shining lights of his life,  Miles and Owen, one sister Kathy Brown of Concordia and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Martha Badger.
