Michael "Mike" Thomas Mumbower, 72, passed away on April 13, 2025 in Kansas City, MO.

Mike was born on December 21, 1952, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Glenn and Marion Mumbower. He was the middle child, joining his sister, Rosemary (Rose) Mumbower Hagen, and later followed by his younger sister, Marjorie (Margie) Mumbower Curry Hornbostel. Mike graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in Sedalia, Missouri, and went on to spend the majority of his life as a long-haul truck driver, traveling all over the country. Eventually, Mike retired to Kansas City, Missouri.

After retirement, Mike embraced his love for motorcycles. He was also a loving and devoted caretaker to his rescue cats, who were a great source of comfort and joy in his later years. Known for his humor, sarcasm, and unexpected comments, Mike’s personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Glenn, his mother, Marion, and his sister, Margie. He is survived by his sister, Rose and several nieces and nephews who will cherish their memories of him.

A private family celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your local pet shelter in Mike’s memory.
