Pastor Hardy was a significant influence during my high school years. He cared deeply for all the members of the community, not just the church, especially the youth. Pastor Hardy definitely made the world a better place. He will be remembered beyond his years here on earth by me and many more I am sure. A great person to have known, especially in my formative years. Now heaven has gotten another notable angel I am most sure of. I am proud to have gotten to know Pastor Hardy, many years ago. God Bless his friends and family at this time of remembrance.

What a legacy Mr Hardy lived and leaves. I came to know and love him when his family moved to Alva, my hometown. I was a suitemate in the dorms with his daughter Cindy and we continued our friendship as we both married and moved to the Oklahoma Panhandle. Darrel and Winona were close with my parents and I credit that friendship with bringing both of my parents on a closer walk with God. Darrel did the pre marital counseling with my husband and me and officiated at our wedding. The world is a better place and heaven has far more souls because of Darrel Hardy.

Darrel had the heart of a servant. People have no idea how much work he did behind the scenes. I am sure Darrel heard, “Well done, good and faithful servant,” when he reached those pearly gates. It was a real honor to know him and work for him as church secretary. My deepest condolences to his family.

I hated to see Tiffany Smith's post about Rev Hardy's passing. We are never ready for the loss , but he had life that was long lived serving others. My prayers of comfort to each of you in your loss. I shared a post on FB tonight that just was posted two days ago with his picture on a NWOSU post from years ago. It was the day of his passing it posted. Thinking of each of you in the days ahead. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Hardy family. Pastor Hardy was a huge inspiration in my life as a teen. He was so involved with the youth and always had stories and a smile.

Pastor Darrel Hardy served his Lord Jesus Christ in the ministry of the United Methodist Church tirelessly, faithfully, and compassionately. Darrel was with his people in all their varied situations in life and he was for them - giving of himself in service and support in every way possible. He grew churches through creative ministries, uncompromising confidence in the promise of God that was theirs to lean into, and servant leadership of the highest degree. As a friend I remain indebted to him for his encouragement and positive spirit. He and his wife were a team whose lives touched many for the good of Christ's Kingdom!
