Obituaries detail

Jason Harrison Tarvin

Jason Harrison Tarvin was born October 7, 1990 at Onaga, KS Community Hospital. Died June 3, 2025, at Meadow View under One Community Hospice care. He worked as a surveyor throughout the years. In November 2024, he came back from a fentanyl-cocaine overdose that caused severe brain anoxia. He fought hard for seven months, starting with great care at University Health in downtown Kansas City, MO and showed miraculous progress afterwards at Madonna Traumatic Brain Injury Rehab in Lincoln, NE. He unfortunately lost his battle on June 3. He is survived by his parents, Angela Terese and Randy Joe Tarvin along with his younger sisters, Holly Terese Tarvin, and older sister Anne Marie Marchael and husband Andrew Marchael.

Jason was an amazing human being— compassionate, kind, funny, friendly and charismatic who suffered with a disease that eventually won. His family loved him more than he or anyone would ever know despite the poor decisions made during his years of suffering. We find peace knowing he is back to his happy, hilarious self no longer fighting these inner battles.

If desired, please donate to First Call in Kansas City to pay it forward and help another individual and families suffering with addiction or to One Community Hospice or Riverbend Heights Health & Rehab Center to support underserved communities with big hearts.

Randy, Angie, Anne, and Holly, I am so sorry to hear the news about sweet little Jason. I haven’t seen Jason in years but I can still picture Jason as a little toddler in Onaga when I use to babysit him and Anne. My heart breaks for all of you because I am sure it has been an uphill battle for a while. Please know I will keep Jason and all of you in my daily prayers. I am sure he is in the arms of Jesus and he is not struggling anymore. May He rest in peace. -Meghan Weiser
