Jacquelyn Diane (Henson) Norton, Age: 80
May 27, 1945 - Jun 27, 2025

Jacquelyn Diane (Henson) Norton, age 80, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025. She was born on May 27, 1945, in Casper, Wyoming, to Edward Henson and Vivian Shroyer.

Throughout her life, Jackie met challenges head-on, was resilient and stayed true to her convictions. She had a sharp mind, a fierce independence, and a heart full of passion for the things she loved. She was unapologetically herself.

She spent most of her career as an administrative and executive assistant, where her attention to detail and organizational talent shone through. A proud graduate of North Kansas City High School, Class of 1963, Jackie cherished her continued connection with several classmates, enjoying quarterly lunches and lifelong friendships over the years. She was a devoted Kansas City Royals fan and loved watching their games—cheering them on through wins and losses. Outside of work and baseball, she found deep joy in nature, a lifelong love of dogs, and a profound respect for Native American culture and traditions.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Cindy Clawson (Randy) of Phoenix, AZ; her son, Troy Norton (Diane) of Holt, MO; and her grandchildren: Kolter Norton of Lee's Summit, MO, Taylar Tallackson of Houston, TX, and Kainen Norton of Kansas City, MO; as well as step-grandchildren: Cody Clawson, Casey Clawson, and MacKenzie Clawson. She is also survived by her sister, Pat Julian (Bob) of Cherokee, CA; her brother, Scott Henson (Julie) of Platte City, MO; her sister, Bev Simpson (Ken) of Prairie Village, KS; and her brother, Greg Henson (Rhonda) of Platte City, MO. In addition, she leaves behind eight nieces and nephews and thirteen great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

In accordance with Jackie’s wishes, she was cremated, and a small interment service will be held at White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, MO, on Wednesday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m.

I attended high school with Jackie and remained friends til she left this world! I always enjoyed her stories about Yellowstone & life in general as she attended our periodic luncheons with other graduates of 1963! We will miss her but will always remember those high school years & Hornet memories!

My dear Big Sis - Youre the only person I’ve known all my life. I’lm missing your smile, your sarcasm, your laughter. Not always easy but we had a special relationship only sisters could really appreciate. I love you and am glad you’re at peace and resting easy. Missing you lots already.

Jackie was like a surrogate mother to me when I lost my mother, with all of our conversation at my manicurist’s table. Please accept my condolences
