Charles Robert “Bob” Haynes, Age: 75

Charles Robert “Bob” Haynes

July 25, 1950 – August 9, 2025

Charles Robert “Bob” Haynes, 75, passed away on August 9, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Born on July 25, 1950, to Charles P. Haynes and Francis S. Haynes, Bob grew up with a strong sense of family and loyalty—values that carried through every part of his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from August 2, 1968, through July 1972, an experience that shaped his work ethic, resilience, and deep appreciation for service and sacrifice.

After his time in the Navy, Bob built a life centered on family, friendships, and community. To many, he was Charles, Robert, Bob, or Uncle Bob—but to his children, he was simply “Dad,” and to his grandchildren, he was “Pop.” He was the kind of father and grandfather who showed up—whether it was for a game, a school event, or just to offer advice and encouragement. His grandchildren, Aiden, Lola, and Midge were his pride and joy, and he never missed an opportunity to share how much he loved them.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Andi Haynes, who was his partner in life and his greatest support; his daughter, Emilie Haynes of Overland Park; his son, Michael Haynes and daughter-in-law, Jessica, of Olathe; and his three beloved grandchildren, Aiden Haynes, Lola Reagers, and Midge Haynes. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Haynes, and sisters, Charlene Burvee and Pamela Nutting, as well as a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will carry his memory forward.

Beyond his family, Bob cherished the friendships he built throughout his life. Some of his closest friends had been by his side since childhood, a rare and beautiful bond that lasted decades. He was known for his warm laugh, his generosity, and his ability to make people feel welcome wherever he was. Bob had a gift for connection whether through sharing a story, offering a helping hand, or simply sitting quietly in good company.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles P. and Francis S. Haynes, who instilled in him the values of faith, integrity, and hard work.

In July, Bob celebrated his 75th birthday, a milestone his family is grateful they were able to share with him. That gathering reflected everything Bob loved most: family, laughter, stories, and togetherness.

Bob’s legacy is not only the love he gave to his family and friends, but also the way he lived loyally, humbly, and with a heart that was always open. He will be deeply missed, but his influence will live on in those who were lucky enough to know him.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Bob’s life will be announced at the end of September. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to https://www.gofundme.com.

Bob and I met in 1969 while in the USN stationed at China Lake, CA. Bob remained a loyal friend all of the years since. Bob remembered my birthday every year often with a clever card and/or a phone call. He will be greatly missed. My prayers continue for his family.
