Darrell Eugene Evans, Age: 78

Oct 16, 1947 - Feb 01, 2026

Darrell passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born on October 16, 1947, and was raised by Hansel and Virginia Evans of Unity Village, MO, who helped shape the strong, hardworking, and good‑hearted man so many of us knew and loved.

Darrell graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1965, and not long after, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. That sense of duty and perseverance stayed with him throughout his life. After his service, Darrell worked for Sears, Roebuck and CompanyBradley FoodsR & D Tooland Lake City, and later as local real estate agent before retiring. No matter where he worked, he was known as someone you could count on—steady, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand.

But Darrell’s life was about much more than work.

He loved the simple pleasures—smoking and grilling, spending time on the water boatingbeing in the garden, and cheering on football. And if you knew Darrell, you know he never showed up empty‑handed. He brought with him a bag full of humor, stories, laughter, and fun—wherever he went. He had a way of lightening the mood, making people laugh, and reminding everyone not to take life too seriously.

Above all else, Darrell cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Hall Evans, with whom he shared love, life, and countless memories. He was a devoted father to his son, Mark EvansHis love extended deeply to his extended family and to all those fortunate enough to call him a friend.

Darrell will be remembered for his kind heart, his quiet strength, and the joy he brought into the lives of others. His presence filled rooms, and his absence will be deeply felt—but his laughter, stories, and love will live on in all of us.
