Wanita Marie Billings (Parkville, Mo.), age 86, born in Manchester, Iowa passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026. She was born on January 6, 1940, to Emery Errol Billings and Flora Mae Billings, who preceded her in death.

Wanita was a devoted mother, grandmother, and committed family member. She is survived by her children: Alan (Pamela) Beam of Topeka, Kansas, and Wanda Adams of Kansas City, Missouri. She leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Jesse Adams (Marshall, Missouri), Jeremy Adams (Kansas City, Missouri), Jessica Beam (Topeka, Ks), Aaron (Melissa) Beam (Fort Knox, Kentucky), and six additional beloved great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sister, Lydia Ellefson, and her sisters‑in‑law, Em Billings and Margie Billings.

Wanita was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Billings and Bruce Billings.

Wanita dedicated 41 years of her professional life to Thomas Hayward/Harcros Chemicals, where she retired as a respected Purchasing Agent. Her strong work ethic and loyalty were hallmarks of her long and meaningful career which included Farm Bureau Insurance, JC Penny, and Collins Radio.

Though divorced, Wanita’s life was enriched by the close bonds she maintained with her family. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for those around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Delhi, Iowa, later this spring. Details will be shared with family and friends at a later date.

Wanita’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Instead of flowers, she asks for donations to the American Heart Association.

I was truly blessed to have the opportunity to get to know Wanita. As a family friend of Alan and Pam Beam‘s we got to spend many birthdays celebrating the grandkids and great grandkids and other special occasions of the family.
