Charles proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years aboard submarines. His dedication, discipline, and quiet strength were hallmarks of his military career. Following his service, he continued his commitment to helping others by installing specialized equipment that assisted cancer patients — work that reflected his compassionate heart and desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

He had a natural gift for helping others and an eagerness for learning new things. Charles was known as a delightful man to be around — steady, warm, intelligent, and always willing to lend a hand. His presence brought comfort and laughter to those fortunate enough to know him.

Charles is survived by his loving spouse, Brenda Besselsen; his son, Seth Besselsen; five cherished grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and his legacy of love, service, and generosity will live on through them.
