In loving memory of Lisa Rene Korsten
Lisa Rene Korsten, born on August 31, 1965, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on January 15, 2026, at Advent Health Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Her passing marks the loss of a beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around her.
Rene was a proud 1983 graduate of Paola High School and continued her education at Allen County Community College. Her life was rooted in the Midwest, where she cultivated deep connections with family and friends and embraced the values of her Christian faith.
She shared her life with her devoted Husband, Jeff, and their Daughter, Linda. Jeff and Rene were married on December 5th, 1992, in Paola, Kansas, and spent their time together in Olathe, Kansas, for 33 years. Rene also leaves behind her loving Mother, Connie Williams, and Sister, Connie Edwards (Jon Edwards) of Wahoo, Nebraska. Her extended family includes many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her fondly. She was preceded in death by her Father, Ralph Buhrmester, and her Brother-in-law, Grant Wasson, and Her Best friend, Janet Offutt.
Rene had a vibrant personality and a wide array of interests that reflected her zest for life. She found joy in tending to plants and gardening—nurturing life with care and patience. Animals held a special place in her heart, as did time spent shopping or attending concerts, especially Rick Springfield. She had a particular fondness for true crime shows and never passed up the chance to enjoy a super cheese burrito. Above all else, Rene cherished moments spent with friends, dining out, and adored her grand dogs—Rupert, Pudge, and Kiwi—who brought endless delight into her days.
Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched with kindness, laughter, and love. May her spirit and strength continue to inspire those who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 14th, 2026, from 5PM to 8PM at the Heritage Center at Mahaffie, 1200 E. Kansas City Road Olathe, Kansas 66061.
