Kristen Nicole Shiflett, 36, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on February 16, 2026.

Kristen was born on August 2, 1989. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. She loved hiking the Katy Trail, relaxing with a good movie, and she truly appreciated her rest. Kristen had a gentle and compassionate heart, with a special love for animals—especially dogs.

Her greatest joy in life was her son, Kainon Michael. He was her world, and the time she spent with him meant everything to her.

She is survived by her beloved son, Kainon Michael Stevens; her brothers, Gabriel Fitzmaurice and his wife Sadie and their children Hadleigh and Asher, Cameron Fitzmaurice, and Kenyon Shiflett; her uncles, Dean Shiflett, Scotty Shiflett and his wife Pam, and Billie Shiflett and his wife Cathy; along with many extended family members and friends who will dearly miss her.


She was preceded in death by her mother, Kimberly Shiflett; her father, Kenneth Shiflett; and her daughter, Kimberlynn.

Funeral services will be held at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home, 174 Highway 5 North, Fayette, Missouri 65248, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The service is open to the public.

Memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses and to support her son.
