Jerelyn Simms passed away on March 21, 2026 at St. Luke’s East Hospital. She was born in Marshall, Mo. May 25th, 1956. To Robert L. Simms and Jere Gorman (Simms). 

She spent her childhood summers riding her beloved horses with her grandmother. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1974. Graduated from University of Arizona in 1979. 

Jerelyn is survived by her 3 sons; Jeremy (Stuart), Justin, and Taylor (Nicole). Mother Robbie, 2 Brothers; Michael Simms (Kristi) and Stephen Simms. 5 grandchildren. Many other family and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Simms.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. 

Donations can be made in Jerelyn’s name to First Presbyterian Church of Independence or KC pet project, because Jerelyn had a love for dogs.
