Douglas D. Tvedt, Age: 61

Jul 03, 1964 - Mar 22, 2026

Douglas Dale Tvedt  61 of Platte City MO  passed away after an almost 5 year courageous battle with cancer on March 22, 2026.

Born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, to Stanley and Barbara Tvedt, Doug grew up in Crystal, Minnesota. He carried the values of his upbringing into every part of his life, living by a steady and purposeful philosophy: "One step at a time." He believed that if you focused on the first step and got it right, the rest would eventually follow. This quiet strength and his legendary dry wit remained with him even as he navigated the challenges of the last few years.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy; his father, Stan Tvedt; his sister, Joan (Tom) Burquest ; and his brother, Don. He is also survived by his sons, Jonny and Ryan; and his step-sons, David, Cody, Mike, and Dustin (Alyssa), whom he proudly loved as his own. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who were a constant source of joy in his life.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, Barbara, and his sister, Joyce.

In this lifetime you come across people who open their lives and their hearts. Doug and Tammy did just that to us… I only wish we had more times together as we live so far apart . Heaven becomes even sweeter to look forward to for cherished times together again. We send Our Love and Prayers to each of you and your whole family.

I hired Doug and the PSR team a little over a year ago with my former company. In a short amount of time, I quickly realized there was something different about him. His organization and attention to detail. His clear communication. His upbeat and positive attitude. His sense of humor. All great qualities that I try to have in my own life. Doug built me up when I lost my job and encouraged me to keep going forward because I had a lot to offer. I spoke with him a few weeks ago when he told me of his diagnosis. I told him I’d pray for him, which I did. Tough to get that phone call yesterday from his business partner. Hit me hard. But I will carry his memory with me for the rest of my life. Rest easy my friend.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Doug for over 20 years and have had the honor of working with Doug and PSR for the last several years. He possessed the rare combination of kindness and toughness. Doug was one of the best individuals that God created and I am always grateful to God that I became his friend and business associate. We will miss him everyday and I want to wish his family blessings and prayers . His dry humor and beautiful smile will always stay with all of us…

I am very saddened at the loss of Doug. I have so many memories with him I could write a book and wouldn't even know where to start. The trips we took to Cancun, Cozumel, the black hills, Makers Mark distillery, the "back roads" through Kentucky, well the list is endless. The best guy you could have for a brother. The finger quotes for "the free fair" in Owatonna was always one of my favorites. I will miss you and will never forget you. I'm hoping you have found Stevie Ray up there to play you a few tunes. Till we meet again brother. Peace.

Doug has been in my life for over thirty years. Our relationship began as neighbours. My youngest son Travis became dear friend's with Johnny and Ryan. In the early years they were inseparable. I would come home from work and ask where is Travis? The answer was always at Johnny and Ryan's. Mine and Doug's relationship quickly evolved beyond just being neighbors. Throughout the years of the kids' birthday, parties and graduations. We were there for each other. We celebrated our families, highs and comforted each other during any lows. To me, doug is one of my brothers. He is one of the most selfless people I've ever met. He always put others' needs in front of his own. Our wives were very close as well.Which made it extra special. I love Doug & Tammy so much. I'm sorry I was not able to attend his celebration of life today. Rest easy my brother. I'll see you soon. Love, TJ

I have known Doug for over thirty years. We were neighbors. Our relationship quickly evolved to being like family. Doug is one of the most friendly, generous, thoughtful, courageous, dependable and honest person I know. Throughout the years, we shared our families, highs and lows together. Whether, it be birthday parties or graduations we never missed our families important events. I am certainly glad we met one another. I loved our relationship that we shared and the fact that our wives were close as well. My heart aches as I write this. I'm sorry I was not able to attend his celebration of life today. I will see you soon my brother. Sleep in Heavenly peace and rest with the Angels. Love, TJ
