Douglas Dale Tvedt 61 of Platte City MO passed away after an almost 5 year courageous battle with cancer on March 22, 2026.
Born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, to Stanley and Barbara Tvedt, Doug grew up in Crystal, Minnesota. He carried the values of his upbringing into every part of his life, living by a steady and purposeful philosophy: "One step at a time." He believed that if you focused on the first step and got it right, the rest would eventually follow. This quiet strength and his legendary dry wit remained with him even as he navigated the challenges of the last few years.
Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy; his father, Stan Tvedt; his sister, Joan (Tom) Burquest ; and his brother, Don. He is also survived by his sons, Jonny and Ryan; and his step-sons, David, Cody, Mike, and Dustin (Alyssa), whom he proudly loved as his own. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, who were a constant source of joy in his life.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, Barbara, and his sister, Joyce.
