Glennon Jay Smith, 61, passed away on April 13, 2026, in Overland Park, Kansas.

He was born on August 15th, 1964, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Hugh Vernon Smith and Bette Ruth McKee. 

Glennon spent much of his life in Kansas. In college, he studied biological sciences and played tennis. He enjoyed watching Animal Planet and was a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the University of Missouri Tigers. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and spent many years working in car sales. 

He is survived by his children, JJ Smith, Drew Smith, Kelsie Smith, and Austin Smith; his father, Hugh Smith; and his siblings, Theresa Smith Mick and Michael Smith. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bette Ruth McKee, and his aunt, Lynn Brust.
