Richard E. Hanna, Jr. of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away on April 26, 2026 at the age of 74.

He was born in Tulsa, OK on April 8, 1952 to Richard E Hanna and Winifred Jane Hanna.

Richard was a mechanical engineer with an MME from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from University of Tulsa.  He served in the Air Force and was an Eagle Scout. 

He enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, astronomy and photography.  He loved his family and enjoyed vacationing with them in Colorado.

He is survived by his wife, Gail, daughters Jaclyn Russell and Kimberly Johnson, grandchildren Tobin, Blake and Katie, and many family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Hanna

A private ceremony will be held in Estes Park, CO in June.

Memorials can be made to Rocky Mountain Conservancy and Wayside Waifs.

Richard was a wonderful, sweet, brilliant man who shared his love daily with his family and blessed others with his friendship and caring heart. I miss him and know he is with God in heaven.
