Nola Marlene Boline, age 89, Overland Park, KS passed away Sunday May 17, 2026, at her residence at The Heritage of Overland Park, with her children by her side. She was born October 18, 1936, to Lloyd and “Nellie” Swenson in Americus, KS. Her early childhood was spent on a farm west of Americus before moving to their homestead northwest of Admire, KS. A graduate of Admire High School, she attended business school in Topeka, KS, and put her education to use as a long-time employee of The Jones Store at Metcalf South.
Nola married her high school sweetheart, Derald, November 21, 1956, and together they built a life and family for the next 45 years, until Derald’s death in 2001. Her family was a great source of pride and delight in the ensuing years as she took an active role in their lives. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her children, Doug (Lori) Boline of Admire, and DeAnn (Charles) Hunter of Olathe; six grandchildren, Sarah Boline, Amy (Alden Wheeler) Boline, Kyle (Ashley) Hunter, Sadie Boline, Kate (Michael) Ogle, and Nick (Patty) Boline; and three great grandchildren, Celia Wheeler, Davena Wheeler, and Malix Boline.
