Lawrence Gregory “Larry” Kennedy, Sr., 70, passed away on June 8, 2026, in Leawood, Kansas.
Larry was born on December 21, 1955. In 1973, Larry joined the United States Navy, where he proudly served for 23 years, retiring with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. His military service was a source of great pride and reflected a lifetime of discipline, dedication, and commitment.
Larry was known for strength of character, devotion to family, and a steady presence that brought reassurance to those around him. Family and friends will remember Larry for loyalty, perseverance, and the quiet ways love was shown through actions.
Larry is survived by wife Patti; children Greg (Emily), Debra (Gunner), Nicolette (Patrick), Edward (Erin), and Steven (Shelby); and 16 grandchildren, all of whom will continue to honor the legacy of responsibility, service, and love that defined his life.
The memory of Larry Kennedy will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know and love him.
Services will be held on June 17, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Church of the Nativity,
3800 W 119th St., Leawood, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life will follow from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Coach’s Bar and Grill,
6700 College Blvd., Leawood, Kansas.
