Dr. Frederick Allen Jones of Belton MO went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 22, 2026 at the age of 76.
Fred was born August 27, 1949 to Frederick Henry Jones and Alice Lee (Morrison) Jones in Kansas City, Missouri.
As a child and young man, Fred’s education was mostly earned through adventures and shenanigans with good friends, siblings, and cousins. He was well known for being everywhere in the Kansas City area at any time of day, trying anything “at least once” with no fear, and playing jokes and pranks on anyone that may be nearby. No one was safe from his mischievous creativity. Fred loved the outdoors, sports, music, movies, family, friends, and exhilaration. He used his youth to push limits and took many with him on his crazy exploits.
As he got older, he began to realize the importance of formal education and studied a variety of subjects in his lifetime. His main pursuits were in first response medicine and epidemiology, counseling, and Biblical Theology. He earned several degrees, certifications, and a double doctorate. He helped to write training manuals and set up processes to improve education in many different institutions. Fred used his knowledge and newfound love of education to teach, inspire, and encourage others from all backgrounds and walks of life. He loved a good debate in almost any subject, and would ask questions from an opposing view with a twinkle in his eye just to liven up the conversation. He would leave difficult conversations having made new friends, as his kindness, quick wit, and sense of humor drew people in.
As his body began to fail him in his 40s, Fred adjusted with humor, patience, grace, and the drive to keep being an instrument for God’s use. His focus shifted to include teaching children, which gave him great joy. As his health continued to decline, he fought back from each setback with determination and humor that few in this world could understand or explain. Fred would just say “God isn’t finished using me yet.”
When Fred’s body finally failed him, he was ready to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face. Just like in life, Fred did not fear death, as he was full of hope in the Lord. “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your Master’s happiness.” – Matthew 25:23
Dr. Fred is preceded in death by his father Frederick Henry Jones and his mother Alice Lee (Morrison) Jones.

And many other beloved cousins, niblings (in honor of Fred, look up this word), friends, and extended family.
Fred did not want a memorial service. He wanted those he knew to smile, share stories, and roar with laughter every day, and be even louder with merriment at every gathering. Though we are all spread across the country, when those of us who loved Fred meet up or get in touch with one another, there will be much celebrating and laughing.
Please consider donating to your home church, a local church, or charity in lieu of flowers, as Fred’s wish was to help those around him. Flowers would have just made him sneeze anyway.
