L. Frances Turley, 95, of Independence MO passed away on June 26th at Rosewood Skilled Nursing Facility. Born to Elzie L. Alexander and Nettie E. (Scoville) on September 8, 1930, in Gross KS, Fran made her way to KC as a young adult. She worked for some time in the payroll department of the Kansas City Star before landing with Commerce Bank, where she held various positions over 30+ years of employment. Upon her retirement, she relocated to the Truman Lake area and soon became the Manager for the Oak Tree Villa Apartments, where Fran enjoyed celebrating resident's birthdays, baking individual cakes for each on their special day. Her free time was spent feeding humming birds and sitting with her pets while listening to the Whipporwills. She also appreciated watching Chiefs and Royals games.
Fran leaves behind two sons; Gordon (spouse Charlene), grandchildren Samantha, and Joseph (spouse Kali); Anthony (spouse Michele), grandchildren Michael (spouse Aubrey) 5 great grandchildren, and ToniAnn (spouse Thomas Chow) 2 more great grandchildren.
Fran was preceded in death by her loving husband, Loyd, who passed in 1988. Per Fran's wishes, the family will have a private celebration of her life.
