Mary F Baylie, Age: 90

Jul 10, 1935 - Jun 27, 2026

Mary Baylie passed away on June 27, 2026. She was born July 10, 1935 in St Louis. She was adopted and moved to Kansas City, MO as a baby.  She graduated from East High School in 1953 and worked at the local malt shop during her high school years. She married Richard Baylie in 1953 and together they had four children and this is when she became a super woman. While raising her own kids, she babysat lots of other children, as well as, ironed shirts to make ends meet.  She was a Girl Scout leader, a member of the PTA  and was actively involved in her church. She also attended all of her kids activities and sporting events.

She worked at Sears and then Raytown Federal Savings and Loan, which later became UMB Bank. She rose to the rank of assistant branch manager and loan officer. Retiring after 25 years, she proceeded to work at NCN and Station Casino. She was great at all of her jobs, but where she excelled, was being a Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma!  Family was everything to her. She was the best!

She loved to dance, she loved Elvis, the Chiefs, the casino, horse racing, traveling, an occasional Miller Lite, a good movie, hold 'em and spending time with everyone. She was a fantastic cook. She greeted everyone with the world's greatest smile, full of warmth and love. Her home was home to many outside of the family, even housing some.  She had an open door at all times and hosted many during the holidays.

She was preceded in death by two of her beloved sons, Rick Baylie (1956-2011) and Mike Baylie (1958-2007).  Also, her son-in-law Mike Casey (1964-1998), her brother Allen Wilson, sister-in-law Kay and brother-in-law Larry Marvel.

She is survived by her daughter Patti Casey, son Ken Baylie (Kate, who became like a second daughter), her brothers Frank Wilson (Peggy), Stan Wilson (Barbara) and sister Margie Marvel. Grandkids Tony Baylie (Catrina), Kyle Casey (Angela), Steven Casey (Deanna), Garrett Baylie, Makenna Baylie, Annie Davis, Alex Baylie and Katie Baylie. Great grandchildren Aaron, Amanda, Lincoln, Lorelai, Isaac, Walt and Logan. The hole she leaves behind for the family is tremendous, but the love she gave to all of us will last forever. What a life, what a gal, what a dynamo.
She was also a woman of faith. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral service, but a future celebration of life sometime in August
