Deborah “Debbie” Anne Perry, 57, of Overland Park, Kansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior after a courageous and hard-fought battle with Glioblastoma and previous Leukemia battle on July 4th, 2026. She passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her husband, daughters, and little dog Gabe.
Debbie was born on October 29, 1968 in Dallas,TX, to Burney and Marta Adair and her 3 older siblings- Connie, Brenda and Bryan. Debbie was a caring daughter, sister and sister-in-law, cousin, an adoring aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a friend to many.
Debbie was a devoted wife to her husband and her truest and best friend, Tony, of 36 years. Debbie and Tony’s love was evident in so many ways- taking trips together to go camping, going to the beach- her happy place, attending church together, and even as simple as holding hands everywhere they went. She truly saw Tony as her soulmate and love of her life.
Debbie was a loving mother, supporter, and friend to her two daughters, Megan Holsapple (Jon) and Marisa Meyer (Jake). She was a proud and adoring Mammaw to Carter and Cooper Holsapple, and Lilah and Lucy Meyer, who were the greatest joys of her life.
Debbie’s love and pride for her family was evident in everything she did. Debbie was her girls’ biggest supporter- faithfully attending sports games, helping with sets and costume changes as Momma Perry in school theater productions, and every important moment in between. She had a special gift for not only making, but also capturing memories. She was always taking photos and created countless scrapbooks filled with moments her family will treasure forever.
Her grandchildren were truly her greatest love. She cherished every moment spent with them, especially their beloved “Friday Fundays with Mammaw”. She rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on (loudly) at their many activities. She made every holiday special for the grandkids- even making them photo memory books of their whole year for their birthdays. Her love for them radiated and was always so evident.
Debbie had a heart for helping others, something that shone brightly throughout her life. She served her community in many roles, including as a school paraprofessional when her girls were in elementary school, an emergency room unit secretary, and an office administrator at Christ Community Church. She truly loved serving her church community. No matter where she was, Debbie made those around her feel cared for and supported. She greeted many with a “hey friend!”. She built lasting friendships with so many people.
Debbie will be remembered for her kindness, her selflessness, and her unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and the lives she touched.
