Frank Richard Fisher, Jr., Age: 81

Frank Richard Fisher, Jr. 81 years old born in Maryville Missouri, passed peacefully on June 17th, 2026, in Kansas City, Missouri where he resided.

He attended the Horace Mann Laboratory School in Maryville and then went on to the Maryville High School. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts and had the opportunity to attend the Philmont Scout Ranch. Frank enrolled in Northwest Missouri State University, studying chemistry and woodworking.  While at NWMSU he swam on the university swimming team, setting many records that have only been broken in recent years.  Frank later transferred to the School of Pharmacy - University of Missouri – Kansas City where he received his pharmaceutical degree.  While pursuing his degree he worked at the Ward Parkway pool in the summers where he met his future wife.  Following graduation he worked at St. Luke’s Hospital – Plaza as a pharmacist for 43 years.  While at St. Lukes he started pharmacies in the Mid America Heart Institute, surgery and later years he worked in the out-patient pharmacy.

Frank was very active in his community over the years, serving on HOA boards, president of the Western Missouri Soccer League, soccer coach, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, taught many children to swim and was stroke judge for swim meets.

Frank was known for his love of family, dogs, friends, community, woodworking and his sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by Frank Richard Fisher, Sr (father) and Margaret Marie (Wells) Fisher (mother). As well as his father-in-law James Henry Roberts and mother-in-law Virginia Alice (Weeks) Roberts.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Alice(Roberts) Fisher – Bobbie. His daughter Barrie Fisher, granddaughters Bridgit McCoy and Lauren McCoy. His son Brad Fisher, daughter-in-law Michelle Fisher and grandchildren Noah Fisher and Regan Fisher.  As well as additional family members, friends and colleagues.

There will be a Celebration of Life, Sunday August 2, 2026 from 12:30 pm – 3:00pm at the Event Space at Grove Church, 7027 N Oak Trafficway, Gladstone, Missouri 64118.

In lieu of flowers the family request that you make donations in his name to either the American Cancer Society or an Animal Rescue/Shelter in his name.
