Nancy Suzanne Broome, born October 23rd, 1948, to Hoyt and Violet Norman in Kingman, Arizona, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on July 4th, 2026.
Wife to Bill Broome.
Mother of Samuel William Broome, Katharine Sarah Norman Dahlstrand, and Rebecca Megan Patton Tracey.
Sister to Dwight and David.
She married Bill Broome on the bicentennial, July 4, 1976. She became a widowed mother of three in 1982.
She never met a stranger and could shake a room with her laughter. She was the friend you needed when you needed a friend. She flirted with men and sympathized with women. She offered wisdom and foolishness in equal parts.
On the dance floors of Knoxville, Tennessee, they called her The Snake.
Her grandchildren, Taylor and Dylan, called her Buttons.
Her children called her Momma.
She bought toys for every child she ever encountered, and loved to introduce little girls to Fancy Nancy.
She was our own Fancy Nancy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to your local animal shelter in her memory.
