Sheila Ann Parish, 82, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Sheila was born on August 5, 1943, in Sangerfield, New York, to Gerald and Evelyn (Ingalls) Rogers. In her younger years, she embraced adventure and travel, spending time living abroad and exploring the world with her first husband, David Nusz, and their children. These experiences fostered her lifelong appreciation for people, places, and meaningful connections.

Sheila worked for many years as a home health aide in Utah, providing care and companionship to many clients who became like family. It was work she truly loved and a reflection of her caring nature. But her favorite role was being a mother. Her children always knew that, through her deep devotion and love, she would always be there to care for them.

Later in life, Sheila devoted much of her time and energy to her faith and church communities. She found great fulfilment through volunteering and participating in activities at Christian Life Center in Layton, Utah, and Hope Alive Church in Olathe, Kansas. Through these communities, she formed many cherished friendships that enriched her life.

The family would like to recognize Laura and Bill Griggs for their unwavering kindness, generosity, and support over the years. Whether helping around her home, providing transportation, or caring for her beloved dog, Zoey, they were always there when she needed them.

She had a special place in her heart for animals and shared her life with many beloved dogs and cats over the years. Her faithful companion, Zoey, was able to visit her on her final day, bringing comfort when it mattered most.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Rogers and Evelyn Gadziala; her brothers, Russell and Ronald Rogers; her infant son, Michael; her eldest son, Scott; and her former husbands, David Nusz and Keith Parish.

She is survived by her children, Gregory Nusz and Christina Woodworth; her grandchildren, Samantha, Andrew, Courtney, Gavin, and Jessica; her great-granddaughter, Evalynn; extended family, friends, church family members, and loved ones whose lives were touched by her friendship, faith, humor, and spirited personality.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hope Alive Church, 9675 W. 159th Street, Overland Park, KS 66221, with a private family luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends and loved ones to share their favorite stories and memories of Sheila. The memory book will be available at the service.

Sheila was a true spitfire. While she could sometimes seem a bit gruff, those who knew her best understood the warmth, humor, and generous heart beneath the surface. She had a remarkable ability to leave a lasting impression and create a story worth retelling. Sheila will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
