Juanita Faye (Taylor) Woolery passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, at the age of 91.
Born on October 30, 1934, to Lonnie Victor and Fay Ellen (Lane) Taylor, Juanita was one of nine children in a close-knit family. Though life carried each sibling in different directions, family remained an important part of who she was. She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings: Hershel Leon Taylor, Zelma (Taylor) Gilpin, Leryn Victor Taylor, Leslie Lane Taylor, Carl Lee Taylor, and Jack Dean Taylor. She is survived by her sister, Joan (Taylor) Baker, and her brother, Gail Don Taylor.
Juanita shared 73 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Albert Woolery. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family, raising two children, Richard Woolery and Janice Woolery. She was also a proud grandmother to Lauren Woolery.
For most of her working life, Juanita was an administrative assistant. She was dependable, organized, and took pride in doing her work well. Beyond her career, she found joy in music, traveling, attending church, and taking pride in her appearance. She loved beautiful clothes and believed in looking her best wherever she went.
Juanita had an effortless sense of style and believed that looking nice didn't have to cost a fortune. She loved beautiful clothes, took pride in always looking her best, and had an uncanny talent for finding remarkable bargains. Earlier in life, she even modeled for Adler's, a local clothing store, combining her poise with her love of fashion. Her family knew that whenever she proudly announced, "This was $100," the next question was always, "What did you get it for?" Finding a beautiful bargain brought her almost as much joy as wearing it.
To know Juanita was to know laughter. She was beautiful, funny, and a delight to be around. She had a quick wit and a gift for making people feel at ease. She could also, as her family lovingly recalls, "get mad as a hornet," but even those spirited moments became part of the colorful personality that everyone adored.
She was a devoted wife and a wonderful mother who filled her children's lives with fun, security, and love. She had a remarkable way with children, and they adored her in return. One of her family's favorite memories is arriving at family reunions and watching the younger children come running toward her, joyfully calling out, "Aunt Nita!" Few moments captured her loving spirit more perfectly than that.
Juanita's greatest legacy is not found in the years she lived, but in the happiness she brought to others. She made people feel welcome, cared for, and loved. Her kindness, humor, grace, and unwavering devotion to her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Albert Woolery; her children, Richard Woolery and Janice Woolery; her granddaughter Lauren Woolery; her sister, Joan (Taylor) Baker; her brother, Gail Don Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 1:00 pm at Countryside Christian Church, 6101 Nall Ave, Mission, Kansas.
