Marian Faye Hamacher Buchanan of Leawood, Kansas went to be with the Lord on 12 August 2026. She was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area, living in Johnson County since 1951.
She worked for Heckel Brothers Beauty Supply, Co. 25 years as a sales representative until she retired in 1982. Previously she worked for the First Lutheran Church as Church Secretary, prior to that with the Railroad Retirement Board. She was a member of the Village Presbyterian Church and enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Church and the Village Food Pantry.
Marian was proceeded in death by her husband of fifty years, Charles H. Buchanan who died August 1, 2006, her parents, Rose and John Clark Hamacher, brother, Ralph C. Hamacher. She leaves two children, Phillip C. Buchanan of Parkville, Mo., Jennifer Lynn Karlisch and her husband Manfred, of Williamsburg, VA, four grandsons and six great grandchildren.
A celebration of Life will be held at Village Presbyterian Church, Prairie Village, KS chapel at a later date. Service date and time will be announced. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a contribution to the Village Church online at
