Laura Lynn Stephenson, age 73, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026, at her home in Greenwood, MO. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose gentle spirit and steadfast faith touched all who knew her.
Born May 19, 1953, in Sacramento, CA, Laura was the eldest daughter of Myron and Dorothy McIntyre. As a younger child, she lived in Hawaii for 6 years while her father taught at BYU and had fond memories of her experiences there, with visits back throughout her adult life. Laura attended BYU, where she met her future husband Allen. She married Allen Stephenson on April 26, 1975, in the Oakland, CA LDS Temple, and they settled in Roseville, Ca. and lived there for over 40 years. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, service, and love.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Laura found strength in the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served willingly, loved her family deeply, and was consistently kind in word and deed. She cherished her testimony of the Savior and the promise of eternal families.
In her later years, Laura faced Alzheimer’s disease with courage and grace. Though the illness took many memories, it never diminished the love she gave or received. Her smile, kindness, and spirit remained a blessing to those around her.
Laura is survived by her husband, Allen Stephenson; her children and their spouses, Brian and Jenelle Stephenson, Julie Anne and Derik Clayton, and Matthew and Jasmine Stephenson; and her grandchildren, Noah, Logan, Joseph, Brandon, Tiffany, and Roman Stephenson; Mikaela, Brysen, Owen, and Collin Clayton; and Zoe and Sadie Stephenson. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Paul and Beverly McIntyre and Juliana and Leland Rogers, along with many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Brother Paul says, “Laura was the perfect child, sibling, wife, servant to many, and lived with the charity and grace of an angel. He continues -- I know that term angel is an overused cliché at times, but with Laura it fit 100%, and my sister Julie and all of us were the fortunate beneficiaries.”
Her family is grateful for the love and care she received, especially during her illness. They will always treasure her laughter, love, example, and the many ways she enriched their lives.
A memorial service will be held on September 19, 2026 in Holladay, Utah at 5450 South Holladay Blvd at 11 am. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of her life and the legacy of faith and love she leaves behind.
We will miss Laura deeply, but find comfort in knowing that through Jesus Christ, families are eternal. Her life was a gift, her love a blessing, and her memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
