Mary Christy “Chris“ Burr of Lenexa KS, passed away September 11th, 2026 following a short but valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born May 10th, 1948 in Illinois where she lived till she was 20 years old.

She then moved to California where she lived the majority of her adult life returning to the Midwest in 2019.

She was a member of the Christ Church Anglican and devout Christian her entire life.

She is survived by 3 children. Dustin Burr, Paige Morales (Manuel) of Oxnard Ca, Erica Newsum of Santa Paula CA; 5 grandchildren Bella and Gage Newsum, Anna Burr, Gabriel and Mia Morales, 2 siblings Gretchen Mason Alexander (Bruce) of Lenexa KS, and Nicolette Trumbo (Kirk) of Kansas City, MO, 2 devoted nephews Terry Linboom (Lisa) of Kansas City, MO. and Kenny Mason of Prairie Village, KS, along with numerous nieces and nephews by marriage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and a nephew.

Arrangements are being made in California for a later date.

Donations to the Cancer Society or Christ Church Anglican may be made in her honor in lieu of flowers or other tributes.
