Donald “Don” J. Gossman, 66, passed away on September 16, 2026, in Overland Park, Kansas.

Don was born on June 1, 1960, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Ralph and Jeanne Gossman. He is survived by his children, Rachel and Daniel, and his siblings, Mike, Steve, and Terri.

Don built a respected career as a residential real estate appraiser in the greater Kansas City area. As the owner and president of Gossman Consulting LLC, he became a recognized authority in his field and was deeply committed to teaching and mentoring others.

Beyond his professional life, Don found joy in the places, activities, and people he loved most. He cherished his time in the islands, a place he had hoped to call home for the rest of his life. His family and friends will find comfort in imagining Don there now, surrounded by the beauty, warmth, and peace of the place he held so dear.

Don also loved scuba diving, playing sand volleyball, and spending time with his beloved dogs, Diego and the late Diesel. These passions reflected his carefree spirit, his love for the beach, and his appreciation for the simple, meaningful moments shared with family, friends, and the loyal companions who brought him comfort and joy.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held at a later date.
