Randy DeWoody passed away on the morning of September 19, 2026 at his home in Kansas City, MO from complications related to Parkinson's Disease.  He was born on September 11, 1955 the second of two sons to Juanita Ann (Platt) and Andrew James DeWoody, Jr. at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, LA.  He grew up in Bossier City, and graduated from Bossier High School in 1973 where he played trumpet in band, then attended Louisiana Tech on a music scholarship.  He had two children, Christopher Don and Megan Michelle from previous marriages before he met and married the love of his life, Pamela (Gengler) DeWoody in 1997.  Randy worked for nearly 25 years in Traffic Engineering in Shreveport, LA before taking an early retirement to travel to Lansing, MI when his wife was transferred there.  They later moved to Kansas City, MO when she was transferred again.  He was happy to make a home with her wherever life took them.  Randy was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister-in-law, Suzy (Dale) DeWoody.  Left to celebrate his memory are his wife, Pam and daughter, Megan of the home, his son, Chris and daughter-in-law, Monica (Dutcher) DeWoody of Waskom, TX and his brother, Dana Phillip DeWoody of Humble, TX.  No service is planned at this time, and the family requests no flowers, but suggest donations to local Hospice.
