David Lee Stewart, Age: 72

Oct 31, 1953 - Oct 14, 2026

David Lee Stewart, 72, of Lone Jack, Missouri passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026 in Lee Summit, Missouri surrounded by his loving family.

Dave grew up on a small family farm in Centropolis, Kansas. He graduated from Pomona High School in 1971, where he was active in sports and received one of his most memorable accomplishments — being voted as having the “best legs” in his class. Something his family can smile about for years to come.

Dave had a talent for carpentry early in life and went on to become a master carpenter. He took pride in his work and craftsmanship. He could build just about anything you could think of.

Dave never knew a stranger. Whether you had known him for years or just met him, he made you feel like an old friend. He loved a good conversation and endless stories, if you ever went to say goodbye, you knew it wouldn’t be quick one. He always had one more story to tell, one more thing to add or for sure another laugh to share.

Above it all Dave loved his family and all the friends he made along the way. That love will be remembered through all the memories, stories and laughs. A bit later in life he had a new found love for travel and adventure which took him to Indonesia.

Dave was blessed with three beautiful daughters from his marriage to Treasa Ledom. Three of his proudest accomplishments by far.

Dave is survived by his daughters, Stacy (Kenny) of Alabama, Tracy (Chris) of Kansas, Tamara (Jason) of Kansas; his grandchildren, Ashlee (Lucus) of Kansas, Matthew of Illinois, Jarrett of Kansas, Kelsie of Kansas, Zachary (Brianna) of Kansas, Hannah of Kansas, Aubrey (Chase) of Kansas; and five great grandchildren, with two more on the way. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda of Kansas, and Bonnie (Kent) of Texas, along with many extended family and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Kathryn Stewart, and his brother, James Stewart.

And while this is one goodbye we all wish could have lasted longer, we find comfort in knowing a man like Dave leaves behind a love that never ends.

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at a later date.

This world is a little harder now that Dave is gone. I can't call just to talk or have him cheer me up with some story I had probably already herd. He was my best man at my wedding and my best freind/father figure in life. He taught me so much more than carpentry and I am extremely thankful for having him in my life. You will be missed more than you can imagine Dave. Flirt with all the ladies up there.
